Field Services Engineer, Retford

We are working with a specialist engineering organisation operating within the water management and flood defence sector, seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Service Engineer to join their project delivery and operations team. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to support a wide range of critical infrastructure assets across the UK.

This is a field-based position, requiring weekly travel nationwide, supporting both project delivery and ongoing customer aftercare. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of water control and flood defence equipment across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Support installation teams by carrying out quality inspections and resolving on-site issues
• Perform planned and reactive service, maintenance, and repair on water control and flood defence equipment
• Diagnose faults where issues are not immediately clear
• Assist with commissioning of newly installed systems
• Conduct site surveys to support pre-contract activities
• Provide input to engineering teams regarding parts and maintenance requirements
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and time logs
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with HSEQ standards and documentation

Requirements

• Electrical qualifications essential (Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering or similar)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Strong mechanical engineering experience
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide on a weekly basis or being based in Retford
