15525 Electronics Test Support Engineer, Eastbourne

The role is to support a wide range of computer-controlled electronic Automated Test Equipment, at our busy production facility in Eastbourne. It will involve some regular day-to-day test equipment support activities, but we're primarily looking for a first-line trouble-shooter to deal with unexpected test-related problems as and when they occur. We?ll be looking for somebody with a passion for problem-solving, who would thrive working on a multitude of different tasks. Experience: We are looking for a multi-disciplined support engineer, with at least 2 years experience supporting computer-controlled electrical/electronic equipment. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of electronics theory and some knowledge of electronics design are key requirements. The ability to read and work from electronic schematics and system diagrams is essential. Familiarity with computer programs developed in Visual Studio (C# or VB.NET) would be imperative. Understanding the interaction between the hardware and electronics systems and how they are controlled and guided by the programmes, isolating and pinpointing the break in that link and amending or re-writing the VB programmes for an effective, reliable, long term fix. Good inter-personal skills are needed, as the succesful candidate for this role will find themselves working with managers, engineers and production personnel at all levels. Crucially, you will have a knack for root-cause problem-solving, and a pragmatic approach to putting in place appropriate robust solutions in a timely manner. Qualifications: Degree (or possibly HND) in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
