Cleaner (Leisure Centre), Eastleigh

A reliable and hardworking Cleaner is required to support the smooth running of a busy leisure centre, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety across all areas.

Salary: £24,595 per annum FTE / £13,294 (based on 20 hours per week) + Benefits

Location: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire (SO30) – Fully Site Based

Job Type: Part-Time, 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 5:30am – 9:30am, 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

As a Leisure Centre Cleaner you will carry out routine and deep cleaning duties across gym areas, studios, changing rooms, and communal spaces, ensuring all areas remain clean, safe, and presentable for visitors and staff. The role involves both independent and collaborative work with the facilities team, following health and safety procedures and maintaining excellent attention to detail.

• Clean facilities areas: maintain gym floors, equipment, studios, changing rooms, showers, and communal spaces
• Maintain hygiene standards: ensure all areas meet high cleanliness and infection control standards
• Restock supplies: replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables
• Use cleaning equipment safely: operate and store cleaning materials and chemicals in line with regulations
• Inspect and monitor areas: identify and address spillages, hazards, and cleanliness issues promptly
• Report maintenance issues: highlight faults, damages, or safety concerns to the appropriate team
• Follow health and safety procedures: adhere to COSHH and workplace safety guidelines at all times
• Support team operations: work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a welcoming environment
• Provide customer assistance: offer a polite and helpful presence to visitors when required

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities support roles
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable approach to work
