You’ll be joining our  Civils projects team  - We deliver specialist civil engineering for the private and public sectors across the UK, building strong relationships based on a collaborative approach.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the day-to-day commercial activity across your contracts, making sure valuations, cost reporting and contract processes are accurate, timely and compliant. You’ll work closely with operational, finance and procurement teams to manage risk, protect margin and keep commercial information clear and reliable. You’ll also support less experienced colleagues, helping maintain consistent standards across the team.Want to come and be a part of it? What will you be doing? The tasks and responsibilities you’ll take on. Pre-contract – You’ll support the commercial setup of projects. You’ll: Support tender activity and supplier engagement Work with Procurement to define work packages and contract termsSupport tender evaluation and contract award processes Valuation and change management– You’ll manage valuations and contract administration in line with requirements. You’ll: Produce accurate, contract-compliant valuations and applications Check and assure the quality of valuations completed by othersMonitor certifications, payments and cash receipts Address non-compliance and manage rejections or disputes Maintain contract administration processes, including notices and correspondence Review valuations regularly and support junior colleagues to improve Supply chain and cost management– You’ll support effective control of cost and value. You’ll:Validate cost data from finance systems Maintain accurate accruals and support margin performance Build working relationships with supply chain partners and resolve issues early Manage subcontract administration, including onboarding, notices and accounts Support cost management planning across projectsCost and financial management– You’ll help ensure reporting is accurate and aligned. You’ll: Check cost data, including actuals, accruals and liabilities Make sure reporting is completed to the required standard Maintain cost management plans in line with Group requirements Support risk and opportunity assessmentsRecord keeping– You’ll keep commercial records accurate and up to date. You’ll: Maintain registers for valuations, payments, notices and correspondence Ensure site records, diaries and returns are complete Maintain subcontract documentation and supporting records Keep risk and opportunity registers updatedContract performance reporting– You’ll support clear and reliable performance reporting. You’ll: Produce cashflow, WIP and cost/value forecasts Support pipeline and revenue forecasting Check that reporting is complete and meets required standards Prepare and present weekly and monthly CVRsShare insight on risks, opportunities and performance trends Work with clients and internal teams to validate SLA and KPI performance Your responsibilities as a people manager: What we expect of you - You help the team work well day-to-day, giving clear direction and support: Plan and allocate tasks, checking progress and helping others meet expectationsShare your expertise and coach colleagues, helping them build confidence Raise any performance or wellbeing concerns early Help create a positive, safe and inclusive team environment Keep communication open and support a strong team spirit What you’ll bring Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within infrastructure or constructionStrong working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts Strong numerical and data analysis skills Good understanding of cost management and commercial processes Confident using Excel and commercial systems Contract and supply chain understanding Experience supporting subcontract management and contract administrationAbility to identify and raise commercial risks and issues Able to build effective working relationships across teams Comfortable working with operational, finance and procurement colleagues Willing to support and guide junior colleagues Shares knowledge and helps maintain consistent standardsHND / Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience About us We want to be an employer of choice and a great place to work, attracting diverse and talented people, who join us and make a difference.
