We employ approximately 1,500 people across our Wholetime, On-Call, and Support functions.

This role includes a 10% enhanced pay allowance to reflect the enhanced responsibilities, flexibility, and requirement to deliver ERD training outside of core hours, including occasional evenings.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment using varied instructional techniques.
  • Attend relevant development courses, NFCC seminars and meetings.
  • Accurately record student performance in line with Service procedures, national legislation, and Awarding Body requirements.
  • Collect and report learner feedback to support continuous course improvement.
  • Conduct basic safety checks and routine maintenance on training vehicles to ensure safety and roadworthiness.

What we’re looking for:

  • Applicants must hold a Full LGV Category C Licence and have a minimum of 5 years of LGV driving experience, in line with Fire Standards and the Emergency Response Driving Framework requirements.
  • Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) qualification or actively working towards it (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of Emergency Response Driving (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to demonstrate the Service’s values in daily practice.
  • Strong instructional, communication, and assessment skills.
