Volunteer Fundraising Strategy Lead - Volunteer, Stanmore

Volunteer Fundraising Strategy Lead - Volunteer, Stanmore
Description

Help shape the future of an innovative wellbeing and sustainability charity. We are seeking a senior fundraising professional to provide strategic leadership and pro bono support to strengthen income generation, partnerships and long-term growth at The Inner Peace Foundation.

What difference will you make?

Your support in this role will help strengthen the long-term sustainability and growth of The Inner Peace Foundation, enabling us to expand programmes that promote wellbeing, community resilience and positive social and environmental change.

By helping shape our fundraising strategy, identify income opportunities and strengthen partnerships, you will play a direct role in helping us build the resources needed to grow our impact. Your contribution could support us in moving from ambition to action; helping turn ideas and emerging initiatives into sustainable programmes that reach more people.

The insight, networks and expertise you bring could help us strengthen our fundraising foundations, diversify income streams and improve our readiness for future growth. This may include opening doors to grants, philanthropic support, strategic partnerships and other opportunities that can help sustain and scale our work over the long term.

Your support could directly contribute to expanding community outreach, inclusive wellbeing programmes, environmental education initiatives and collaborative projects rooted in our Harmony with Nature vision. In this way, the impact of your role extends beyond fundraising itself, it helps create the conditions for deeper and broader social and environmental impact.

This role will also help build organisational capacity. Beyond immediate funding opportunities, your contribution can strengthen strategy, confidence and systems that continue to benefit the organisation long after the volunteer placement. The ideas, guidance and relationships developed through your involvement could have lasting value.

For a growing mission‑led organisation, access to experienced strategic fundraising support can be transformative. Your involvement could help accelerate progress that might otherwise take years to achieve, helping us become more resilient, better connected and more sustainable.

Ultimately, your contribution will help support people and communities who benefit from our work – individuals seeking greater wellbeing, communities building resilience, and people looking for more sustainable and compassionate ways of living.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference not only to one organisation, but to the wider social and environmental causes we serve. By helping strengthen The Inner Peace Foundation, you will be supporting the growth of an initiative working to create harmony between personal wellbeing, community wellbeing and care for the planet.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in fundraising, philanthropy, partnerships or strategic income generation who is excited to contribute their skills to a purpose‑driven organisation creating social and environmental impact.

Ideally, you will bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Developing fundraising strategies and income generation plans
  • Grant fundraising, trusts and foundations
  • Major donor or philanthropic relationship development
  • Corporate partnerships or stakeholder engagement
  • Fundraising campaigns or supporter development
  • Strategic planning, business development or organisational growth

We are particularly interested in someone who can bring strategic insight as well as practical ideas, and who enjoys helping mission‑led organisations strengthen their long‑term sustainability.

The most important qualities for this role are
  • Experience or confidence in fundraising strategy and identifying funding opportunities
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute ideas at a development stage
  • Initiative and a proactive, collaborative approach
  • Interest in social impact, wellbeing, sustainability or community development

We welcome applicants with senior fundraising experience, as well as professionals with transferable skills in philanthropy, partnerships, social enterprise or nonprofit leadership. Experience working with small charities or growing organisations would be particularly valuable, though not essential.

This role may suit someone who has held positions in fundraising leadership, philanthropy, grant‑making, business development or strategic advisory roles, including those looking to offer pro bono support or share experience gained over many years.

We would especially welcome someone who can help us think creatively about diversified income approaches and support relationship‑building with potential funders and partners.

While hands‑on fundraising experience is valuable, we are equally interested in people who can bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a willingness to help shape an evolving organisation.

Above all, we are looking for someone who shares our values and is motivated by helping create positive change. If you are passionate about using your skills to support an organisation working at the intersection of wellbeing, community resilience and sustainability, we would love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking an experienced and strategic volunteer Fundraising Strategy Lead to help strengthen and grow fundraising for The Inner Peace Foundation, a yoga‑centred initiative promoting wellbeing, sustainable living, community resilience and positive social and environmental change.

The Inner Peace Foundation delivers programmes that support personal wellbeing, environmental awareness and social impact through yoga, mindfulness, education and community outreach. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled volunteer to help shape and support a sustainable fundraising strategy that can expand our reach and deepen our impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with fundraising, philanthropy or partnership development experience who would like to make a meaningful contribution at a strategic level. We are particularly interested in someone who can help us strengthen the foundations for long‑term income generation and organisational sustainability.

Key priorities for the role include
  • Developing or strengthening a fundraising and philanthropy strategy aligned with our growth plans
  • Identifying grant, donor and partnership opportunities
  • Advising on fundraising priorities and diversified income approaches
  • Supporting the development of compelling funding proposals and cases for support
  • Contributing ideas for campaigns, donor engagement and supporter development
  • Helping strengthen approaches to relationship‑building with funders and strategic partners
  • Offering guidance on fundraising systems, progress monitoring and long‑term sustainability

Depending on your interests and experience, there may also be scope to contribute to higher‑level strategic thinking around organisational growth, partnerships or investment readiness.

You would work collaboratively with the founder/leadership team in a flexible, supportive environment, with the opportunity to help shape the role. We see this as a strategic volunteer opportunity rather than a narrow delivery role, and welcome someone who enjoys bringing ideas, insight and initiative.

This role would suit someone who enjoys helping mission‑led organisations grow and wants to apply their fundraising expertise to support meaningful social and environmental impact. Your contribution could help unlock resources that support community programmes, wellbeing initiatives, sustainable living education and future collaborative projects.

Most importantly, your support will help strengthen the long‑term sustainability of The Inner Peace Foundation and help turn vision into action — enabling us to reach more people and deepen our contribution to healthier communities and a more sustainable future.
