Senior pensions actuary, Edinburgh

An award winning Consultancy has a unique opportunity for a Qualified Pensions Actuary to join their team within a consultative role working from either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The company has recently grown, won new business and obtained new projects. As such they require an individual to work at a senior level, to provide a high quality actuarial service to their clients within their private sector pensions team.ResponsibilitiesProvide high quality actuarial service to private sector pensions clients.Focus on technical aspects while building relationships with key decision makers.Account manage and deliver service to clients.Drive proactive business growth and mentor less experienced team members.Participate in the preparation of technical papers for internal and external publications.Develop new propositions and services for the firm.Lead marketing and new business activity for the company.QualificationsFellow member of the Institute or Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent actuarial qualification.Solid technical pensions background covering joined up investment, actuarial advice and valuations within the private/public sector.Experience with bulk transfers and knowledge of employee benefits issues.Key SkillsHighly client‑focused with strong communication skills.Commercially focused, confident communicator and entrepreneurial approach.Passionate, self‑motivated, enthusiastic leader with strong consulting skills.Innovative mindset and desire to improve processes.BenefitsA highly competitive salary, excellent benefits and a bonus scheme.They are eager to ensure this role is filled quickly as the account is critical for their team.
