They are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be level-headed and have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment. Strategic Buyer Job Description Maximize commercial advantage via the deployment of effective sourcing strategies for the plant Assist in the development of key supplier and customer relationships Provide effective contract negotiation and administration Interact with other functions within the BU including manufacturing, maintenance, IT, Finance to achieve business objectives Negotiate contracts and price increases Coordinating the sale and shipping of excess inventory Acts as a team participant for Procurement projects at the location level, support the Commodity Management teams. Gathers data, builds up local market knowledge, provides site specific needs to commodity management team Supplier reduction Liaison with suppliers for orders ? follow ups, etc Ordering items / services not covered by agreements (Blanket Purchase Order / Contract Purchase Orders / mall) and not subject to leverage buy according to the appropriate best practices and Procurement policies and procedures Expedites shortages or urgent requirements from location  Strategic Buyer Essential Skills/Experience/Qualification Required Experience working within a buying role Knowledge of procurement practices and processes Strong communication skills (face to face, email and phone) Able to learn new processes and systems easily (IT solutions and methodologies for Procurement activities) MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)  Strategic Buyer Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualification Required Experience working within a manufacturing environment Degree/other relevant professional certifications (CPM, APICS, CIPS)
