Marketing Director || Torrance, California

Role: Marketing Director Location: Torrance, California Our client, a seed-stage tech startup, is hiring a Marketing Director to own and evolve their brand identity as they prepare to launch. You will be the person who defines how the company is perceived by the outside world — building the marketing engine from the ground up. This is a foundational leadership role with a clear path to CMO as the company scales. You must bring both a deep creative vision for brand building and the analytical rigor to track KPIs and make data-driven decisions. The company needs someone scrappy, independent, and excited to operate across brand, growth, partnerships, and experiential marketing simultaneously. What You'll Do Develop and execute the awareness campaign strategy for the product launch later this summer — defining KPIs and building a metrics tracking framework from day one. Own global brand positioning, voice, and narrative — translating complex water purification technology into compelling, human-centered storytelling. Manage a wide umbrella of marketing activations including athlete ambassador partnerships, in-person events, trade shows, social media campaigns, and experiential activations. Coordinate with external creative agencies while maintaining a protective, hands-on approach to brand consistency across all channels. Build the foundation for the full marketing organization — setting up processes, hiring future team members, and growing into a senior leadership role. What You Bring Required: 5–10 years of experience in brand marketing or growth leadership for consumer/tech products Led brand strategy and campaign development for consumer products Strong content/brand skills with creative experience Highly analytical — tracks campaign KPIs and makes data-driven decisions Preferred: Experience marketing physical/hardware products to consumers Background at outdoor, adventure, or climate tech brands
