Applications Engineer – ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) Location: Hybrid – Foster City, CA (Minimum 4 days onsite per week) Employment Type: Contract (3–6 Months) Pay Rate: $80–$86/hour (W2) Industry: Autonomous Mobility / Transportation Technology Important Notes: No C2C (Corp-to-Corp) engagement available Visa sponsorship and visa transfer support are not available for this role   About the Opportunity A leading innovator in advanced transportation technology is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support the administration, customization, and enhancement of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms.   This role will collaborate closely with engineering and IT teams to deliver application improvements, integrations, reporting solutions, and ongoing platform support. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, experience working with enterprise applications, and a passion for solving complex operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.   Key Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders to implement application enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and integrations. Configure and maintain workflows, approvals, change management processes, and application settings to support business requirements. Monitor application health, performance, and reliability using established operational practices. Develop and maintain custom integrations and automation solutions using Java and Python. Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support engineering, operational, and leadership teams. Update project templates, configurations, workflows, and metadata within ALM platforms. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and process improvements. Provide advanced troubleshooting and serve as an escalation point for application-related issues.   Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. Professional experience developing or supporting enterprise applications. Strong programming experience with: Java JavaScript Python Velocity Experience configuring and supporting Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools. Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including platforms such as MySQL or PostgreSQL. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.   Preferred Qualifications Experience with Polarion or similar ALM platforms. Experience working in regulated industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, financial services, or other compliance-driven environments. Experience supporting enterprise software integrations and reporting solutions.
