On site role based at Pulsant's Fareham data centre predominantly, with occassional travel to Pulsants other DCs in the Southern region. 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off. Days (6am 6pm) and nights (6pm-6am). With 14 strategically located data centres and a dedicated team of around 300 professionals (with an average tenure of 7 years), we support around 700 clients services across the UK with critical cloud, connectivity, and compute services.The role: In this varied role, youll provide first-fix support on M&E and minor fabric repairs, oversee and coordinate contractors, and ensure all Health&Safety requirements are met to the highest standard. Youll deliver small project works both independently and as part of a team, while also offering technical guidance and supervision on larger tasks. With the ability to contribute to reports and audits for the management team, youll play a key part in keeping our operation running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.Key responsibilities: Deliver responsive, high-quality support to internal and external clients, consistently exceeding expectations Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure timely updates across all systems Uphold strict health and safety, security, and compliance standards across the site and facilitiesFollow Pulsant processes, including incident escalation and access control procedures Monitor systems, environment, and M+E infrastructure Manage tickets efficiently, logging issues and providing timely, professional responses Support day-to-day site operations, ensuring security, integrity, and smooth functionalityPerform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure facility upkeep and reliability Manage stock, assets, and critical spares within the data centre Escort and assist third-party vendors and engineers on site Contribute to infrastructure rollouts, migrations, decommissions, and refresh projects Capture and maintain accurate asset data, including photos and serial numbers for auditing and troubleshootingInvolvement with testing and handover, and knowledge and understanding of any new M+E infrastructure installed monitoring the facility. Responsible for undertaking the duties of an LV Authorised person on site, including planning, documentation and implementation with a strict adherence to safety protocols.This role requires the willingness of providing holiday cover and overtime support within the team and occasionally other sites within the region. As part of this role, you will be required to handle confidential information and/or sensitive data in a professional manner and in line with existing Company processes and policies.Provide on-site remote hands/smart hands support for remote IT teams during incidents and requests including performing basic troubleshooting, equipment reboots, and component replacements (where authorised) Carry out physical IT tasks including cable management, hardware installs/moves, and connectivity checksSupport cross-connects, console access, and power verification activities Assist with rack installation, cabling, and hardware deployment to optimise performance What / who we're looking for: Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, with experience working within a critical, industrial or commercial environment.Completed electrical apprenticeship or similar - ideally with 18th edition wiring regulations. Basic IT skills, Word and Excel. Experience in some of the following would be very beneficial - L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems. Currently hold or able to obtain (eligible for) SC Clearance.
