SEMH PE Instructor, Farnborough

Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient PE Instructor to join a specialist Alternative Provision in the Farnborough area. The setting supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and provides a structured, nurturing environment designed to help pupils re‑engage with learning and develop essential life skills. The provision is looking for someone who can use sport, physical activity, and positive role‑modelling to motivate students, build trust, and promote emotional regulation. This is a temp‑to‑perm role, with the intention that the successful candidate becomes a permanent member of the team in July, providing stability and consistency for pupils.

• Lead PE sessions and physical activities tailored to SEMH learners
• Promote teamwork, confidence, resilience, and healthy lifestyle habits
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students
• Use trauma‑informed and restorative behaviour strategies
• Support learners during PE lessons and across the wider school day
• Work closely with pastoral, behaviour, and senior leadership teams
• Be a calm, encouraging, and reliable presence for pupils
