An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Screening Officers to join the North East Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Hub which supports Bowel Cancer Screening Services for a population of 9 million.
The role includes administrative, laboratory and call centre functions, including the processing of returned screening samples, acting as first point of contact on the national Freephone helpline, as well as helping in the production of significant quantities of outgoing mail (invitations, reminders, test packs and results) using bespoke software and complex mailroom equipment as part of the call and re-call of the national screening programme.
The post-holder will work as part of the integrated administrative and laboratory based team, working to meet the national targets and standards set by the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHS BCSP).

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
