Teaching Assistant – Whickham

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students across the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning as a Teaching Assistant, working with individuals and small groups.
• Provide classroom support to students across a range of subjects and abilities.
• Assist in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers to support student progress and engagement.
• Adapt resources and activities to meet the needs of different learners.
• Build positive relationships with students to support confidence and participation.
• Monitor and report on student progress where required.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working within a secondary school setting – essential.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people in an educational environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
