Milk Education is recruiting Primary Trainee Teachers to support schools across Sunderland and Gateshead, with part time and full time opportunities available throughout the academic year.

Primary Trainee Teacher role is ideal for:

• 3rd year university students seeking work after their final placement
• 1st and 2nd year students wishing to build classroom confidence early
• Aspiring teachers looking for a pathway into permanent roles

Primary Trainee Teacher Role

You’ll work in primary schools providing teaching and learning support, similar to a Teaching Assistant role, while gaining invaluable classroom experience. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the class teacher with lessons and activities
• Working with small groups or 1:1 pupils
• Helping to manage classroom behaviour and routines
• Gaining exposure across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

Many of our trainee teachers go on to secure long term and permanent roles through Milk Education.

What We’re Looking For in a Trainee Primary Teacher

• Currently studying a Primary Education / Education related degree
• A genuine passion for working with children
• Reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn
• Available for at least 1‑2 days per week (flexible)
