This post is to commence as soon as possible and last for 4 terms in the first instance. To apply for this job, you must: Hold UK QTS, QTLS, or an overseas teaching qualification Have experience in teaching general English at key stages 3 and 4 Have good subject knowledge Use a creative approach in your teaching Be comfortable in delivering high quality lessons to a variety of needs and mixed ability classes The head teacher and the leadership team have very high expectations of staff. As a result, there has been a rapid and sustained improvement in achievement, teaching and behaviour, especially with the English department. Teachers know their subjects extremely well and plan lessons that build well on students? prior knowledge. Teaching has improved strongly in recent years with much good and some outstanding teaching observed. They have high expectations of students and the school actively promotes skills in collaborative work and independence from Year 7 onwards.
