Teacher – Primary Speech and Language Resource Base, Letchworth Garden City

A medium sized infants school based in Letchworth Garden City is looking to expand its team and is searching for an experienced Teacher to start in September. This OFSTED rated ?outstanding? school caters for primary learners and is a mainstream school. However, this role will be a teaching role to work with young children who have speech and language difficulties and challenging behaviour within the schools Speech and Language Resource Base. This exciting role will mean that you are joining a supportive and friendly team. The school are very lucky to have a dedicated speech and language base on site, which is where you will be based. You will be working alongside a team of 3 teaching assistants. Your role as Base Teacher will include: * Leading lessons to your SEND learners within the resource base. * Supporting lesson planning throughout the school to ensure that your SEND learners are accustomed too when integrated within mainstream classrooms. * Helping the school create resources for your SEND learners. * Managing the rota for your SEND TA?s and SEND pupils. * Reviewing each child?s EHCP where necessary. Candidates with the following would be ideal: * Experience in working with challenging behaviour * Experience in working with speech and language difficulties * Experience in using Makaton, British Sign Language or Sign-a-long * Are available to start immediately * Teachers must have QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) or must be NQT?s.
