Salary and Working Hours

Salary: up to £26,250 per annum depending on experience. Working hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30 (37.5 hours) with an hour lunch. Contract type: Fixed Term Contract – 3 month FTC.

Responsibility

As an Accounts Assistant reporting to the Market Area Accountant, you will:

  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly procedures, including setting up cycles and performing reconciliations.
  • Handle cashiering responsibilities, including daily bank statement postings and reconciliations.
  • Process profit and loss invoices.
  • Review and reconcile debtors.
  • Assist with various monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Resolve accounting queries and report discrepancies to the relevant departmental manager.
  • Liaise with managers to build strong relationships.
Qualifications
  • Previous exposure to a finance‑oriented role.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to reconcile data efficiently.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate records.
  • Highly organised and able to work well under pressure, prioritise workload, and take initiative to improve procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and discretion with sensitive information.
