RoleDiagnostics Directorate is looking for Clerical Officers based primarily at Glasgow Royal Infirmary x‑ray department, with required coverage at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill ACH & Glasgow Dental Hospital. Travel across the North Sector may be required in addition to other GGC imaging departments as per service needs.
This post will provide an efficient reception and clerical support service within the Radiology Department, performing a range of clerical duties, updating the Radiology computer system, and liaising with patients, medical staff, GPs and other clerical support staff in an efficient and professional manner.
Working Patterns- Post will be based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
- This is a part‑time permanent role for 20 hours per week.
- Hours are Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm, 5 evenings per week. Job share may be considered if preferred.
Salary will be pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Responsibilities- Responsible for opening and closing of reception areas and departments as appropriate.
- Act as the first point of contact for both external and internal customers within the department.
- Register confidential patient data on RIS and update patient demographics efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and update patient demographics, appointments, waiting lists and tracking information using a range of patient information systems, ensuring a complete audit trail is available for reports and films.
- Coordinate CRIS diaries alongside available Radiologist and Radiographer sessions following distribution of the weekly rota, ensuring sessions are utilised effectively and National Waiting Time Guarantees are achieved.
- Coordinate patient appointment letters and prepare relevant information, including fasting instructions, in line with NHS Government waiting time regulations.
- Communicate with patients regarding changes or cancellations of appointments, often at short notice, and arrange patient transport and interpreting services in accordance with local protocols.
- Respond to patients face‑to‑face and over the telephone, addressing concerns relating to appointments, cancellations, waiting list times and examination preparations in a sympathetic, professional and diplomatic manner to provide reassurance and support.
