LADO, Gloucester

We have a position available for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to work with Gloucestershire County Council. The post requires for you to work 3 days per week which can be chosen by the successful candidate. Responsibilities: * To undertake Initial Discussions regarding referrals coming into the LADO Officer on whether they meet the Allegations Management thresholds provided under Working Together. * To chair multi agency Allegations Management meetings for all children and young people considered to be at risk from someone working or volunteering with them in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 and local guidance from the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board * To hold agencies to account for their investigations under the Allegations Management process, checking the quality of reports, planning, preparation and decision making under the process and recording a final out comes for each case * To produce information for the Senior LADO and Head of Service on practice issues as evidenced through the Allegations Management process, in order to inform multi agency service planning and development as well as statistics for the Annual Report to the GSCB which is published. Applicants must have previous experience of allegation management including chairing of strategy meetings, maintaining records and offering advice to employers. Experience of using electronic recording systems and excel spreadsheets is essential. This post is only open to qualified social workers registered with Social Work England.
