HGV Class 1 Days & Night Drivers, Howden

Pertemps has an exciting opportunity for HGV Class C+E Day & Night Drivers to work out of a National Distribution Centre situated in Howden, Goole (DN14).

These drivers will work on behalf of our client, a global leader in logistics, transporting products such as kitchens and fixtures to Howden Joinery sites across various regions.

Occasional weekend shifts are expected; drivers must be able to work Saturdays or Sundays during peak periods.

HGV C+E drivers earn a competitive hourly rate, starting from:

• Monday to Friday: £19.93 ph – Flat Rates
• Saturday (All Hours): £24.91 ph – Flat Rates
• Sunday & Bank Holiday (All Hours): £24.91 ph – Flat Rates

Paid breaks are included. All drivers are paid on a PAYE basis; LTD or Umbrella companies are not accepted.

In addition to the hourly rate, drivers accrue holiday pay based on an average of 2 days a month on a 40‑hour week. Holidays are not paid in advance to inflate the rate. Drivers are enrolled in an optional pension scheme which can be opted out of.

• Transport and trunking between depots and sites.
• Unload and manage palletised goods; no handballing or lifting required.
• Work curtain siders (must have experience) with up to 5 palletised drops.
• Plan delivery schedules and routes with transport managers.
• Ensure loads are safely secured and meet legal strapping requirements.
• Follow traffic reports and adjust routes as necessary.
• Complete delivery paperwork, logbooks, and driver check‑seats.
• Adopt a safety‑first approach to driving and load securing.

Regular shifts: Monday to Friday, with odd Saturdays and Sundays during peak periods. Immediate starts are available after a successful 1.5‑day assessment. Various shift start times are offered.

• Valid HGV C+E entitlement with a minimum of 12 months experience.
• Current driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and free of endorsements such as DD’s, DR’s or IN10s.
