Design Manager, Guildford

We are looking for a talented and experience Design Manager to join our team in Guildford and to make a positive impact within our growing business. Managing the design process from Pre-Construction through to and including the construction phase for projects up to 25m.

You'll be responsible for:

• Looking ahead and planning all aspects of the project, identifying challenges and bringing imaginative and cost-effective solutions to the table
• Working within current legislation, standards and codes of practice where needed
• Looking to eliminate health and safety and financial risk during construction
• Keeping a good flow of quality information to ensure pace with the project timescale
• Having the ability to build good solid relationships with all stakeholders
• Ability to work equally well as part of a team or on your own
• Ability to communicate at all levels and be understood
• Commercial awareness
• A broad understanding of alternative forms of procurement, to include frameworks, negotiated and 2 stage tenders

Experience:

• Previous experience covering similar roles
• Understanding of traditional construction and D&B
• Thorough understanding of CDM regulations
• Knowledge of software - for example BIM and 4Projects
• Design qualification considered
