Job overviewWe are seeking to recruit a part-time ward clerk to join our existing team within Medicine & Emergency Care.
The successful post holder will be based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital and will provide day to day admin support to the wards. Shift working is required between the hours of 08:00 - 20:00, 7 days per week including all bank holidays on a pro rata basis.

Main duties of the job- The successful candidate will provide admin support, including maintaining good IT skills & recording of patient admissions, transfers and discharges on PAS & Nervecentre.
- To undertake reception duties for multi disciplinary teams including answering the telephone and relaying messages to clinical staff.
- To undertake general office administration duties including filing, using Mediviewer to retrieve medical notes and information, scanning & handling post.
- Excellent communication skills and awareness of confidentiality.
- To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.
- To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
- To input data regarding all admissions, transfers and discharges onto Patient Administration System.
- To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to ward staff, visitors and patients.

- Previous office/reception experience.
