Annualised Recreation Assistant, Hindley

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team within Wigan Leisure Centres. As a BeWell Recreation Assistant, you will work within the various leisure facilities across the Borough and will support, enhance, and deliver the day-to-day operations and services in our BeWell facilities.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all facility areas.
• Set up equipment for various leisure activities and maintain a safe environment.
• Support programmed activities and perform duties of a Lifeguard / First Aider.
• Assist with swimming lessons and other wellbeing programmes for residents.
• React quickly to emergency situations.
• Maintain ongoing training to retain operational efficiency and competency.

• Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or enrollment in a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course within the next 8 weeks.
• Experience in a leisure or similar environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence.
• Ability to work daytime, evenings, and weekends.
• Hold a swimming teacher qualification is advantageous.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
• Commitment to ongoing training.

Salary: Grade 3, £13.26 per hour.
2 hours per month (annualised hours contract). The hours must be worked flexibly to meet service needs and may involve additional hours. 4 positions available. Permanent contract.
