Learning Support Assistant - SEMH, Horsham

We are looking for a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Horsham, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a real difference to pupils aged 7–19, including those with autism and additional needs.

• Supporting students with SEMH needs and autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping to deliver engaging, tailored learning activities
• Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in a calm, consistent manner
• Supporting students with emotional regulation and building positive relationships
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development
• Working closely with teachers and a wider support team to provide a structured and supportive environment

• Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm
• Pay: £106.87 per day
• Working with students aged 7–19

• A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
• Experience with SEMH and/or autism is desirable but not essential
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
