The Laboratory Inventory Assistant at Centre for Biomedicine (CfB) HYMS will support the efficient operation and management of laboratory sample storage systems by migrating existing ultra-low temperature freezer contents to new freezers, cataloguing all samples, and accurately inputting information into the cloud-based freezer inventory system. The postholder will work closely with a technician from the existing Technical Services team within CfB to ensure the safe, systematic, and traceable transfer of samples. Responsibilities will include identifying, labelling, and recording freezer contents, as well as moving any unidentifiable or unlabelled samples to a designated holding freezer for further review and investigation. The role will require the creation of accurate and up-to-date digital records. The postholder will be expected to adhere strictly to laboratory standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, and data management requirements, while demonstrating strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a laboratory research environment.
