Job description Salary - £48,000.00 Location – Immingham Bulk Terminal, South Killingholme, DN40 3LZ Pattern of Work – 36.5 hours, Monday - Friday
What you need to know about the role We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the Immingham Bulk Terminal Engineering Department. Immingham bulk terminal handles iron ore, coke and coal stacking the material in stock beds on site and reclaiming via road and rail to our manufacturing headquarters in Scunthorpe. The terminal, on the west side of the port, can handle up to 9 million tonnes of raw materials a year to support steel production. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of an assigned area of Plant and Equipment. The Engineer will formulate and deliver maintenance schedules, equipment availability requirements in conjunction with the manufacturing teams. You will direct and supervise maintenance teams and contractors within an assigned plant. The maintenance engineer will lead and develop engineering performance in line with CAMF principles available tools and techniques. Your day-to-day will include:

- Leading mechanical maintenance activities, faultâfinding and breakdown response for the Stoves.
- Using modern diagnostic technology to assess plant condition and plan proactive maintenance.
- Developing engineering solutions and improvement projects that enhance reliability, safety and performance.
- Supporting operational teams to meet safety, environmental and production targets.
- Managing maintenance work scopes, technical documentation and contractor activity.
What we need to know about you
You’ll bring strong mechanical engineering knowledge and the confidence to apply it in a heavy industrial environment. Ideally, you’ll have experience in:
- Mechanical maintenance in complex process industries (steelmaking, Materials handling power generation, chemical, oil/gas, etc)
- Pressure systems, combustion equipment or highâtemperature operations
- Root cause analysis, reliability improvement and planned maintenance
- Leading and developing personnel behaviours and competency
- Directing and delivering equipment and maintenance method improvements.
- Delivering and driving efficient maintenance in a safe manner at the optimum cost.
- Formulating and directing maintenance / repair job methodology with respect to the assigned assets and in line with CAMF principles
- Organising and directing outage activity for the assigned area
- Formulating and agreeing spares stock holding
