About the role: Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member of the engineering team dedicated to maximising manufacturing productivity through proactive maintenance and minimising downtime.In this role, you will ensure machinery is kept in optimal, safe working condition while leading regulatory inspections, risk assessments, and the development of Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).You will also play a vital role in continuous improvementsupporting new machinery implementation, managing site contractors, maintaining accurate inventory and incident reports, and mentoring the next generation of talent by providing support and training to engineering apprentices. Keeping machinery and equipment downtime to a minimum. Carrying out proactive planned maintenance tasks Carrying out reactive maintenance tasksCarrying out machine/equipment improvements to improve safety and/or efficiency. Diagnosing faults effectively and making good whenever possible. Implementing minor electrical installation works (depending on qualifications) Carrying out mechanical repair and/or replacement of equipmentEnsuring all tasks are risk assessed through site specific, job specific or dynamic risk assessments. Sourcing parts and materials from suppliers and arranging procurement Administering work permits and monitoring 3rd party contractors. Keeping accurate records Updating and maintaining the maintenance recordsKeeping work areas clean and tidy at all times Were looking for someone who: 5+ years' experience in maintenance role Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems Able to demonstrate strong analytical thinking and have strong decision making skillsGood literacy and numeracy skills, able to keep a track of and report on activity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Team player Adaptable and flexible Tidy worker with good organisational skills.
