We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Lancaster Farm & HMP Kirkham, working as a Construction Cover Teacher on an ad-hoc basis.

You will deliver construction teaching and practical workshop sessions on an ad hoc basis within the education department, supporting learners to develop industry‑relevant skills and behaviours. Sessions are structured and aligned to curriculum and awarding body requirements, with a focus on accredited outcomes, employability, and resettlement.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• To hold a teaching qualification and, where applicable, a relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• To hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have previous track record of achieving quality and performance targets
• Have experience producing accurate and timely reports
• Positive team working
• Effective communication & inter-personal skills
• Experience working in a Cover capacity/in a prison environment (Desirable)
