Tester (Data Services), Leeds

In this role you?ll support in-sprint test activity to the agreed standard, to deliver accurate and reliable data, working under the guidance of the Lead Test Engineer to achieve test team goals. You?ll gain experience in test methods, tools and techniques to enable your progression more complex projects or into standalone specialisms. This a role where you can really get stuck in, working in a fast paced agile environment to produce high-quality solutions at speed. What You?ll Do: Create and run test scripts; contributing to the creation of re-usable test assets that both demonstrate the current state of the products under test and can be used to ascertain the status of future versions of the products under test. Contribute to team evaluation of the products and services they support from small change up to strategic projects, identifying potential issues and escalating these to the function principle Engage with BI/MI Teams to gather an understanding of the business requirements and translate these into formal test plans Work within a delivery team where you?ll be empowered to propose decisions which may influence the success of projects and team objectives. Take ideas / suggestions from peers and translate these into fully described proposals for improved working practices Influence peers on potential process or tool improvements to assure the quality of the work that the team delivers Develop your awareness of developing technologies and takes responsibility for driving their own development. Essential skills and experience required: You?ll have plenty of experience working within a Tester role running and/or creating test scripts for a variety of complex applications. Hold a ISTQB or ISEB qualification or equivalent Hands-on JIRA experience for transitioning user stories to completion Ability to follow pre-authored regression scripts and to report accurately on the outcomes of these tests Experience of database interrogation Excellent communication skills Computer literate and comfortable with Windows and Microsoft Office Applications What we can offer you:   We can offer you a competitive salary, bonus, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 3% contribution into your pension, life assurance and income protection.
