Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Trust (HPFT) is looking for a part‑time Band 7 Occupational Therapist to cover maternity leave in the Community Adult Mental Health Services. The post is based in Bishop’s Stortford but will require travel to various locations in the north and east of Hertfordshire during part‑time hours with no shift‑working. Hybrid working is available.
Key responsibilities- Be part of an OT team – not a lone professional.
- Participate in MDTs that value and respect OT involvement.
- Engage in CPD and reflective practice.
- Receive support from and be part of an OT network across all services.
- Travel as required for community outreach.
- Serve as a team member within the Head OT’s community service, contributing to supervision, service development, recruitment, retention, training and other managerial duties.
- Lead planning, development and evaluation of OT services and manage defined projects where appropriate.
- Support staff in supervising OT students on practice placement, following attendance at an approved Fieldwork Educators course.
- Driving is essential unless a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 prevents driving.
- BSc/MSc/PG Dip Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of clinical post‑registration training
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and associated packages
- Practice placement qualification/APPLE accreditation, Membership of RCOT, including specialist section
- First‑line management training
- Solution‑focused brief therapy training
- AMPS/ESI/SI training, post‑registration experience in relevant clinical settings at a Band 6 level
- Applied experience of providing both individual and group work interventions
- Highly specialist knowledge and experience of using and applying the Model of Human Occupation assessment tools, or other appropriate tools for the area
- Experience of other specialist OT assessment tools, e.g. AMPS, SI
- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in providing advice, support and clinical supervision to junior staff and/or students
- Applied knowledge of recovery principles and how these relate to OT
- Experience of working with people with mental health problems and/or learning disability in a variety of health and social care settings
- Involvement in recruiting staff
- Experience in research or audit
- Previous experience of having worked at Band 7 level
- Suitable UK professional registration
