Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Carrying out comprehensive assessments of patients with a range of impairments resulting from stroke.
  • Planning and delivering evidence-based, patient-centered Occupational Therapy interventions to promote functional recovery and independence.
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to contribute to goal setting, rehabilitation planning, and discharge decision-making.
  • Supporting patients and their families by providing education, equipment advice, and onward referral where appropriate.
  • Liaising with community and rehabilitation services to ensure safe and timely discharges and continuity of care.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with professional and trust standards.
  • Participating in regular supervision, in-service training, peer support, and service development initiatives.
  • Contributing to audits, quality improvement projects, and the ongoing evaluation of therapy services on the unit.
  • Carry out all professional duties in accordance with the code of professional conduct as issued by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure&Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is£38 for an enhanced and£18 for a standard check.
