Automation Engineer, Liverpool

A Automation Engineer DAYS role based in Liverpool working for a reputable manufacturing firm Your new company Your new company are an established manufacturing organisation with a strong market presence, specialising in the sector of petro-chemical. Your new role In your new role as the Automation Engineer, you will work a DAYS shift pattern. Primarily, you will be responsible for: Performing routine diagnostic checks on automated systems. Troubleshooting PLC, instrumentation, and electrical control circuits. Calibration checks of field instrumentation. Stroke test on pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor-operated valves. Loop-checks and troubleshooting. Receipt verification and bench checks of new instruments. Verification checks on interlocks, alarms, and controls performance. Installation inspection against design documentation. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role, ideally you will hold: A recognised apprenticeship Possess appropriate technical qualifications City & Guilds/NVQ (or equivalent). Ability to read electrical drawings, P&ID's, and ladder logic PLC Code. Ability to work on Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC's. Monitor and fault finding including the use of Rockwell programming software to view status and process values. Ability to work on SCADA/HMI's, monitor and fault finding. Ability to work on different types of communication systems, Ethernet/IP, Modbus Serial, Modbus TCP, and Profinet DP/PA. Ability to work on Rockwell drives monitor and fault finding. Must be familiar with the use of calibration and testing equipment for instruments and to inspect, test and perform troubleshooting and diagnose faults. What you'll get in return You will receive a competitive salary between £45,000 and 48,000 (depending on experience) alongside company benefits including 20 days of holiday, contributory pension scheme and other benefits.
