Arboricultural Manager, Liverpool

Our Client operate arboriculture services across the UK on behalf of both public and private sector clients. Following extensive growth of our arboriculture services in the region and a review of our existing management structure, a position has arisen for an experienced Arboricultural Operations Manager to manage and continue the strategic development of our arboriculture services across the North Region. As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for the successful operation of the services under your direct control and to ensure that our services are delivered to at minimum the clients service standards and in the spirit of a continually improving the service. You will ensure that the resources under your direct control including your employees are deployed and managed effectively and in accordance with company's policies and procedures. The Operations Manager will be expected to provide effective leadership to the team responsible for delivering the front-line service (a team which may total up to 30 employees). As well as providing effective leadership, the role requires the management and control of the back-office functions including works coordination, HSEQ requirements and the forward works order book. This role will require you to: Effectively manage staff under your direct control in accordance with company policy and procedures Ensure services are delivered in compliance with specification and customer expectations Effective management and utilisation of resources including labour, transport, plant & equipment Management of service providers / subcontractors Support managers and supervisors with the completion of quotations and estimates Setting and reviewing budgets for services under your control Commercial and financial management of the service to ensure targets are achieved Client account management and development Support the Business Development Team with strategic tendering Maintaining the branding and corporate identity standards Ensure compliance with HSEQ processes and procedures Produce job specific risk assessments and method statements Management of employee training and development plans including annual appraisals with all staff Continue the growth and development of services across the region Encourage and motivate the employees under your control Prepare for and evidence all requirements of the external Arb Association audits Carry out any other reasonable duties as requiredQualifications Appropriate qualifications and/or industry related certificates of competence Qualification in Health & Safety Management such as IOSH Managing Safely preferred Current Full UK Driving License Experience Considerable experience of delivering operational services in a related industry or possess transferable skills from an unrelated industry. A minimum of five years' experience of managing services with an annual value of minimum £1.5m Experience in understanding/managing performance measures and achievement of targets/objectives Excellent IT skills and ability to use them for performance & financial management Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with the ability to analyse and present data to inform operational decisions A knowledge of the Arb Association and its requirements Skills & Aptitudes Good verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with all involved within the service. Able to identify and develop new opportunities Customer and account management experience Able to demonstrate good management skills through leadership, innovation and the ability to tackle challenges in an imaginative, constructive and responsive manner Ability to produce and review relevant risk assessments and method statements Able to promote and sustain a performance management culture Experience in analysing data to inform operational decisions Exhibits resilience and integrity under pressure.
