Maintenance Engineer - machine tools, CNC, Merseyside

We represent a growing manufacturing organisation who specialise in the design and manufacture of a niche and highly innovative mechanical product range for a worldwide client base They seek to recruit a days based multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to conduct all manner of both reactive and proactive plant maintenance tasks in a fast paced and technically complex CNC machine shop environment We seek the following: * A time served engineer, apprentice trained with either mechanical or electrical bias but ideally multiskilled * Previous machine tool maintenance experience is essential to this role * Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a CNC machining environment (milling and turning preferred) * Root cause problem solver, will react quickly to business critical breakdowns, and pull together multifunctional teams to work on key issues as required * Shows strong commercial and business acumen, will understand that machine downtime may affect customer response time and highlight as necessary * Confidence in liaising with external OEMs for advice and guidance * Experience working to a set of common manufacturing industry KPIs ? safety, OEE, TPM * Experience in working in a proactive maintenance department and familiar with TPM, PPM, OEE, SMED techniques, and keen to help to implement these in a new setting Most importantly, the successful candidate will be highly inquisitive, proactive and self -motivated, focused on machine efficiency and its improvement, show logic and pragmatism, strong attention to detail, and an enthusiastic and positive approach to all tasks This is a rare chance to join a stable and expanding business who invest heavily into product innovation and have a wide range of new products in the offing, in a role which will afford great opportunity to make a real difference to production performance and therefore customer satisfaction.
