Support local authorities & communities by working with residents and business owners to bring their unpaid council tax or business rates up to date, whilst ensuring fairness, and delivering the highest standards of legislative practice - all while gaining a City & Guilds certification and developing a respected professional pathway with ongoing opportunities to grow.
This is a role with real impact. You’ll manage complex and sensitive situations, execute warrants, and address persistent rates evasion with professionalism and integrity. As a trusted representative of Marston Holdings, you’ll use sound judgement, handle a wide range of interactions, and maintain consistently high standards.
What You’ll Do- Carry out enforcement activity, including executing Liability Orders.
- Make in‑person visits, assess circumstances, and secure payments or recover goods.
- Manage a varied caseload, using investigative skills to locate individuals, with a strong focus on persistent evaders and high‑priority cases.
- Identify non‑compliance or evasion tactics and respond with proactive, evidence‑led solutions.
- When needed, lead sensitive conversations - including with vulnerable people - using empathy, professionalism, and calm conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate records, manage payments, and ensure full compliance with regulatory, legal, and operational requirements.
- Work flexibly, including early mornings, some evenings, and occasional weekends, with travel and overnight stays where required.
You’ll represent our organisation with sound judgement and a commitment to delivering a fair and consistent service - supported by a full 12 week training programme to help you manage complex and sensitive situations confidently.

- A full UK driving licence with at least 12 months experience and no more than 6 points.

- Takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and upholds high standards in all tasks.
- Be able to professionally and fairly assess people and their circumstances, navigate challenging cases and demonstrate empathy as required
- Digitally capable and skilled at retrieving, analysing, and interpreting information to support decision‑making.
- Able to learn, understand, and apply policy, procedural, and regulatory requirements accurately.

New starters will be subject to clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and a County Court Judgment check. In addition, the post holder is expected to keep the Company updated if their personal circumstances change.
