Training Programme Facilitator: Early Careers Pharmacist
An opportunity has arisen for appointment to the role of Training Programme Facilitator: Early Careers Pharmacist, within the School of Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation.
As part of the strategy to develop and integrate the NHS workforce and enhance multi-professional team working, NHS England (NHSE) is supporting pharmacy education and workforce transformation.
Through the Pharmacy National Programme and regional development plans, the NHS is working to ensure that pharmacy professionals play an increasingly visible and expanded role in improving outcomes and value from medicines for patients across our communities.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be accountable to the Head of School and is responsible for providing professional leadership, together with expertise, advice and support. The role involves supporting the national expansion and embedding of the pharmacy pathways, by working with pharmacy and other key stakeholders across their region. The successful applicant will be expected to work across both the Early Careers and Foundation Pharmacy (trainee pharmacist) teams within the North West to support school objectives.
Applicants should be registered pharmacists and will need prior experience in developing and delivering training in clinical environments and must be able to demonstrate all essential requirements. They will also be expected to provide guidance on curriculum design, educational supervision, quality management and inter-professional education. The role requires meeting tight deadlines and working independently while also contributing to NHSE's wider objectives.
Qualifications- Educated to masters level or demonstrates an equivalent level of experience
- Evidence of post registration continuing professional development
- Registered with the GPhC
- Detailed knowledge of pharmacist training requirements.
- Knowledge of key policies and strategies in relation to pharmacy education.
- Understanding of health sector education and training principles.
- Understanding of curriculum design, educational supervision, quality management and inter-professional education.
- Demonstrating leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate others.
- Meet tight deadlines and work on own initiative to manage workload through effective prioritising and time management.
- Problem-solve and respond to sudden unexpected demands by effectively managing a competing and rapidly changing set of priorities.
- Work independently and flexibly, but also as part of a team and to contribute to NHSE's wider objectives.
- Can communicate information effectively to a wide range of audiences, selecting the appropriate medium and style.
- Establishes constructive working relationships by working with others and demonstrating credibility across organisational and professional boundaries as necessary to achieve objectives.
- Demonstrates a passion for education and pharmacy with a personal ethos to improve health outcomes for patients across England.
- Is diligent, conscientious and self‑motivated, recognising that improved patient care is at the heart of all decision making.
- Demonstrates a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
- Demonstrates an understanding of commitment to equality and diversity through work and actions. All employees will uphold this commitment in their day to day dealings with colleagues and stakeholders.
