Senior Social Worker - Childrens Social Services, London

Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to work within Hammersmith and Fulhams Front Door Childrens Services. Job Purpose To facilitate and undertake comprehensive risk assessments of children and families and carry a complex caseload involving multi-disciplinary work. This includes court work, child protection and permanency planning. To undertake specific tasks for absent colleagues on cases requiring action under the direction of the team manager/duty manager. Chairing meetings, where appropriate, under direction of the team manager/duty manager. To take responsibility for updating specialist knowledge in a relevant area, developing practice and creating and updating information systems. To represent the Department on working groups or liaison meetings involving Health, Housing and other agencies. Participate in front door duty system Complete S47 enquires and attend ICPCs Support and mentor other members of the team and participate in team meetings. The Family Services Front Door is the first point of contact for children and families in need of children social care services. The team provide indepth information and form composite views of all contacts relating to children and young people that arrive at Hammersmith. The team work closely with other front line services in the borough and in close partnership with the police, the Tri Borough Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and key partner agencies to provide a quality and responsive service to residents, partners and stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for providing quality checks, gathering information from various sources, forming recommendations based on a multi-agency risk assessment framework and progressing these accordingly. Their aim will be to provide the best possible service by championing high standards, driving forward improvements and ensuring that we work closely with other agencies and teams.
