The Estates department within the Operations team maintain the grounds, buildings, plant and equipment carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant machine and equipment function to a high standard always. The Estates team is currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to support the specialist areas to ensure that the Engineering systems are supporting the relevant Divisions in delivering the Agency's strategic objectives. You will complete the planned preventative maintenance programme for the specialist plant and equipment making sure the correct maintenance routines are set up and adhered to. You will investigate and respond to faults, and unscheduled tasks as they occur, on a priority basis and propose solutions as to how the fault can be rectified so that the SMS continues to function safely. The role will also require you to provide out of hours cover, on a rota basis (1 in 6). The routine shift pattern hours are 1 week from 08:00 to 16:15 then the next week from 09:00 to 17:30 with this repeating. The opportunity to permanently work on the late shift 09:00 to 17:30 is available. The ideal candidate will be a have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in heating and ventilation, or equivalent, and practical experience ideally in R&D environment: containment laboratories, clean rooms, pharmaceuticals, etc. Knowledge and experience of steam boilers/plant would be advantageous.
