Combustion & Mechanical Engineer - £45k+ Package …, London

My client is a well-established HVAC business with 40 years Industry experience. They specialise in commercial chillers, boilers and air conditioning. In the last 10 years, they have also moved with the industry into FM services. Most of the sites are in Greater London. You will need to be able to demonstrate high level of craftmanship, knowledge, be able to work alone on a wide range of equipment as well as being able to supervise others when needed. An eye for detail and quality is important to ensure they deliver the best for their clients. Some of the duties included are: To carry out planned maintenance within plant room areas Working around Central London, The West End, The City of London & home counties Responding to reactive call outs and attending site to fix Combustion duties: Servicing a wide range of commercial gas boiler from 250KW to 10 MW, to SFG & Manufactures recommendations, whilst seeking to improve efficiency and Servicing associated equipment such as gas boosters, plate heat exchangers, flues, gas detection /safety systems etc. Mechanical duties: pump overhauls, pressurisation units servicing, valve and pipework repairs, cooling tower testing, vibration analysis, fixing leaks, HIU servicing, belt and pully alinement checks, fault finding, chiller checks, water treatment / temperature monitoring and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production Electrical Duties: motor testing, BMS monitoring, meter checks, fault finding and constantly look for ways to reduce the overall cost of the production Servicing AHU's, FCU's, HIU's, chillers, pumps, invertors, cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, underfloor heating, pipework and a good working knowledge of all other M&E & HVAC Good understanding of L8/Legionella Be a good problem solver and ability to fault find and rectify Manage subcontractors and the company's other technical resources Oversee Health & Safety in line with our client's systems Develop quotations for additional works and repairs as required Skills & qualifications required: A time served mechanical apprenticeship Commercial gas qualifications Minimum of 7 years' experience as a commercial gas engineer Confident work on all type and sizes of boilers Mechanical experience to confidently work on pipework and related equipment Confident in carrying out pump overhauls including bearing changes, seal replacements NHC HND (desirable) Previous experience in the Building Services environment IT literate and be comfortable working with an electronic works management system (CAFM) (essential) Be a good problem solver and ability to fault find and rectify Have good technical knowledge whilst also being able to be the face of the company and able to speak with clients when required Clear driving license What we can offer you: Work with great people, being part of a great team A competitive salary and package Challenge, exciting, part of a mission, being part of the journey, doing something that can make a difference in the world Opportunity to progress if you work hard Personal growthIf this sounds like a good match for you, please call Abi Macnamara at Penguin Recruitment on (phone number removed)
