Tool Room & Production Technician (Woodwork) Widnes c£21-23k + excellent benefits Monday-Friday 08:30-5pm. No Weekends! Strive are delighted to represent our client, a well-established and successful organization, in their search for a responsible and experienced wood technician to join their hardworking & energetic team. This is a highly responsible role and is all about great attention to detail across a large-scale woodworking production environment. You will be responsible for showing great leadership skills and managing large workloads in a coordinated, safe and high output production line using the latest technology in tools and machinery. You will take great pride in your workmanship. The ideal candidate will come from a woodworking background and have great experience in Weinig moulders but also with knowledge and exposure to an array of other automated machines such as Powermat, Unimat, Rondomat moulders and more. Key responsibilities of the role: * To have accountability and responsibility for your own workload. * To ensure all key performance indicators are monitored and achieved * Quality Control across all production lines * Set up and operate Weinig Moulding machines for different production operations * Operate Weinig moulder, cross cut saws etc. * Operate powermat & unimat moulding machines * Operate band re-saw * Grinding and maintenance of profile, straight knife cutters and all other critical tools * Template development for new products * To partner with peers and other key contacts throughout the daily operations * Identify opportunities and initiatives for continuous improvements in ways of working, quality, consistency and effectiveness Level of experience needed: * Experience of Weinig Moulding is critical * Knowledge of automated moulding and cutting equipment as well as maintenance of said machines and tools * Experience of operating cross cut, radial arm and band re-saws is also required * Ability to problem solve & create process improvements * Excellent communications skills, both written & verbal This is an excellent opportunity to join a true market leader and expand your experience within a significant and large production operation.
