JOB TITLE: Community Safety Officer LOCATION: Home based initially, and returning to the office in Sutton SM6 when safe to do so. PAY RATE: £17.73 PAYE or £22.12 Umbrella per hour START DATE: ASAP DURATION: 3 months minimum IR35 STATUS: Inside The Safer Sutton Partnership Service (SSPS) is a unique partnership between the London Borough of Sutton (LBS) and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). The partnership deals with all aspects of Community Safety Services in Sutton; including Emergency Planning services, Anti-Social Behaviour, Domestic Violence, Preventing Extremism, Hate Crime, Public Space CCTV, parking services and enforcement. The Safer Sutton Partnership Service (SSPS) is looking to temporarily fill the vacancy for the post of Community Safety Officer in our team. The successful candidate will be leading on the Borough's Criminal Justice programme and associated services for the Partnership. The successful candidate must be relatively familiar and confident with the use of IT software. Sutton Council uses Google products. The job is a full time position, 36 hours per week and is for an initial 3-month period with an option to extend to 6-months (based on skills/abilities) at the sole discretion of the client. Ideally, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate additional skills and abilities which include but are not limited to the following: Have thorough understanding of the Local Authorities' responsibility for Community Safety Partnership. Have an understanding of how the Community Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (C.MARAC) works and experience of multi agency ASB case management. Have an understanding and/or knowledge of the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) programme and other multi agency offender management forums and interventions to reduce reoffending . Have an understanding and/or knowledge of the multiagency place based Problem Solving Meetings (PSM) and/or Joint Action Groups (JAG). Have an understanding and/or knowledge of the multiagency Violence Reduction Partnership. Have the ability to effectively deliver our services, focusing on quality, effective team performance and maintaining good relations with all our partners and agencies. Have an understanding of partnership working, preferably in a community safety environment, and must be able to work confidently with councillors and partners. Have an understanding of trends in crime, disorder and incident hotspots/series across the partnership area. Undertake intelligence analysis using standard analytical techniques producing analytical products as required in accordance with Home Office guidance. Have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to understand and explain complex issues. Have strong administration and organisational skills and must be familiar with Microsoft Office packages which include but are not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Have a knowledge and understanding of contract management in the Public Sector. Be educated to at least an undergraduate level. Vetting Process: The successful candidate will undergo an enhanced CTC security vetting process, completed by the Met Police, for access to the Police Station.
