Description
Our client is one of the largest charities in London that support homelessness and vulnerable people. They have multiple service for clients such as young people, clients with a history of homelessness, mental health or substance misuse issues. Position Available: Team Manager -Mental Health (Hillingdon), £27.62 per hour per hour, 2-3 months temporary. Role Purpose: The service is are provided on behalf of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust to offer a safe space for individuals to reduce their initial distress following referral by clinical teams. The service is commissioned to provide non-clinical support to individuals experiencing a crisis or mental distress following assessment by the identified CNWL services. It is accessible only by referral following assessment / triage by these Services and is offered on an appointment basis. It provides a welcoming, safe and supportive space as well as a hot drink and a snack, for adults (18+) and assessed to be experiencing or are at risk of developing mental health distress. The Coves aim to equip people with the skills they need to reduce their immediate anxiety, formulate individual self-directed support plans and provide them with information / advice around the local services and resources that may help them moving forward. Cover is needed on an ON-GOING BASIS FOR NOW AND FOR A NUMBER OF WEEKS, WHILST WE RECRUIT. The service core hours are 17:00 to 01:00, and the service is open 7 days per week. Cover We are looking for the same candidate to work flexibly across weekdays and weekends, as needed, and to work across KEY SKILLS: Demonstrable experience of managing services for and people with mental health and complex needs. Demonstrable experience of recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, discipline and grievance issues. Experience of performance monitoring and delivering consistently high service user standards. Understanding of Mental Health Crisis Management and the delivery of services to meet their needs and aspirations including working with peer support workers. Excellent knowledge of Community Care, Mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform). Understanding of working in partnership with statutory mental health services Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing and monitoring service user support and assessment plans. Ability to positively promote the organisation at external events, including delivering presentations and creating marketing material. Good knowledge of MS Office systems. Able to use computer systems including case management systems to create accurate reports and able to assess and audit staff ability to use computer systems to record client data accurately and to a high standard. Ability to write & interpret complex reports. Excellent level of spoken and written English. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
