Technical Author, Stonehouse

The Role: Our Engineering client is seeking a Technical Author to be based in Stonehouse, GL10. The successful candidate will join our clients busy publications teams to ensure our customers have documentation for their extensive product range. Technical Author Duties: Creating technical documents and incorporating changes and updates when required. Maintaining relationships with business service providers. The Technical Author will manage the review and approval process for updates to publications. Writing technical content for a wide range of publications from detailed technical Data Sheets to comprehensive Case Studies. The Technical Author will liaise with internal departments and supporting continuous improvement. Essential Skills / Qualifications: The Technical Author will ideally be able to demonstrate the following: A background within a technical publications role Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a technical subject or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a publications-related role Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. The ability to provide accurate and concise written and verbal communications. Technical Author will have experience using InDesign, Structured FrameMaker and Illustrator software The ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision. An awareness of the translation process for provision of publications in multiple languages.
