Class 1 Driver, Croydon

We are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers to work at Royal Mail Croydon during the upcoming Christmas Peak which will run from November to January. Fantastic rates of pay ranging from £19.30 - £23.85 p/h (rates are PAYE (including holiday pay) or LTD CO hourly rates) with guaranteed minimum 7.25 hours pay on any shifts worked. We are expecting a lot of demand for this position, and so recommend you apply now, to guarantee a start in November. Work will involve completing depot to depot trunking runs (you will need to pull / push caged mail on / off the back of the trailer). All types of shifts will be available i.e. Earlies, Days, Lates, Nights (start / finish times will vary though on a shift by shift basis). Shift length can vary anywhere from 4 to 12 hours, and breaks are deducted. Applicants MUST HAVE: * A Class 1 Cat CE Full UK manual Licence which has been held for more than 2 years * At least 2 years of experience (must be able to couple / uncouple trailers, and to reverse in and out of bays between other vehicles) of which 2 months must be in the last 6 months - your experience will be assessed during an unpaid driving assessment / induction * Used their digital tachograph card in the last 6 months (if you have been issued a new card, you must be able to provide the old card during the assessment) * Less than 5 penalty points or endorsements on their licence (no DD, DR, TT, or IN offences will be accepted) * No unspent criminal convictions - a Basic DBS Check will be carried out
