Lead Electrical Engineer for a Government Agency based near Barnet. £40k-£41.5k + Civil Service Pension Lead Electrical Engineer - Central Government Barnet £40,000 - £41,500 27% Civil Service Pension My client is a Government Regulatory Agency who enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research. The Estates department within the Operations team maintain the grounds, buildings, plant and equipment carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring plant machine and equipment function to a high standard always. The Estates team is currently looking to recruit an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join the team. The role will carry out electrical work to support the specialist areas to ensure that the Engineering systems are supporting the relevant Divisions in delivering the Agency's strategic objectives. You will co-ordinate and complete the planned preventative maintenance programme for the specialist plant and equipment making sure the correct maintenance routines are set up and adhered to. You will investigate and respond to faults, and unscheduled tasks as they occur, on a priority basis and propose solutions as to how the fault can be rectified so that the SMS continues to function safely. The role will also require you to provide out of hours cover, on a rota basis (1 in 6). The routine shift pattern hours are 1 week from 08:00 to 16:15 then the next week from 09:00 to 17:30 with this repeating. The opportunity to permanently work on the late shift 09:00 to 17:30 is available. The ideal candidate will be a have a minimum of a Level 3 qualification with an Electrical bias, along with experience of Testing & Inspection. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Maintenance in a critical property environment. You will have experience of fault finding on AHU and switchgear control panel circuits. The role requires a practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical knowledge. You will be able to work on your own and carry out electrical installation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner; be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials; be able to accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs and, if required, supervise other operatives.
