Description
Role purpose Responsible for the development and support of the CMS platform Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) along with digital products and solutions for our client including websites, web apps, tag/pixel management and marketing campaigns based on business need across our digital platform. You are proficient in the delivery of AEM, implementing Templates, Components, Dialogs and Workflows in the AEM platform. Working in collaboration with wider Digital team you will have a good working knowledge of AEM 6.x or above and have core development skills in Java 8, experience in multiple web technologies including: XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will be familiar with Sightly (HTL) templating with Java and Javascript server-side languages. You will have a demonstrable working knowledge of Sling and OSGi declarative services. Experience building headless content services with AEM would be highly desirable. The quality of solutions will be at the forefront of mind and IT development policies and standards adhered to at all times. As an advocate for agile development frameworks, Developers will help create a positive working relationship within Scrum teams and play their part in ensuring that the solutions delivered are fit for purpose and delivered on time. The role holder will be confident in their skills and ability, operating mostly within familiar areas and boundaries of their role. They will have ownership for achieving and improving personal performance, acting on opportunities in their role and seeking new opportunities to develop. A focus will be on achieving personal goals/daily targets and having a personal impact on the goals set for the wider team. Role responsibilities & accountabilities: * Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs * Good level of AEM experience in 6.x or above * Experience with AEM technologies utilising the following: Java, Sightly (HTL), Sling etc * Estimates size of user stories and backlog items * Translates user stories and backlog items into engineering design and logical units of work (tasks). * Evaluates technical feasibility. * Writes unit tests. * Writes and verifies code which adheres to the acceptance criteria * Works with Operations to manage a continuous integration pipeline to deliver and implement new apps/code and updates to the Company * Digital platform. * Contributes to daily stand ups, sprint planning, sprint demos and sprint retrospectives. * Contributes and helps to evolve and revise development policies, principles, standards and best practice, helping to develop our approach to agility and quality deliverables. * Build reusable code and libraries for future use * Applying development best practices and adhering to IT policies and standards. * Delivering solutions that are fit for purpose. * Making sure that projects are effectively handed over to the operational teams and that the expected deliverable business values are successfully demonstrated. * Actively participating in the Development community, sharing skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice. * Communicating complex ideas and concepts simply and elegantly and with impact to create understanding. * Contributing to the delivery of strategy, recognising strategic imperatives and the impacts on own area of work. * Carrying out other tasks as agreed with the UX/UI Team Leader. Key Experience: * Experience of the AEM platform 6.x or above * Experience working as an AEM/Java developer and competent in the use of web development architectures and tools. * Good knowledge of Front End Development utilising the following: HTML, CSS JavaScript Code versioning tools, such as Git Good understanding of: Asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX Frontend frameworks (like React or Angular) as well as knowledge of architecture of a website RESTful API JSON Basic understanding of: Concepts like progressive web apps, server side rendering with client interaction, web security, AUTH 2.0, HTTP 2, etc. Effectively communicate technical subjects to team members. Highly proficient in verbal and written English
