Senior Client Accountant, London SE1

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Client Accountant to join a niche property consultancy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting principles, with proficiency in various accounting software especially in relation to service charges. ·

Working alongside the Property Asset Managers, Facility Managers and Property Finance Team covering a client base managing circa 90 properties, 230 tenants, collecting rental income of £36 million and 38 Service Charge funds of mixed use. This role will involve overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Duties

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow.
• Oversee the implementation and use of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and PeopleSoft.
• Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on best practices in financial management.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and budgeting activities.
• Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and ensure the organisation adheres to all relevant laws.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Client Accountant or similar role within the financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Ideally AAT Qualified, Part Qualified ACCA, minimum 10 years’ experience in Property Accounting.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior staff members effectively.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
