Lettings Client Accounts Assistant – Mandarin Speaking
Key Information
- £30,000 salary
- Full-time, office-based
- Monday to Friday
- No previous experience required
- Full training provided
- Fluent Mandarin and English required
- Clear opportunities for progression
About the Role
Marc & Partners is looking for a careful, reliable, and motivated Mandarin-speaking candidate to join our Client Accounts team in central London.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to build a real career in property. You do not need previous experience in accounts or property management. We care far more about attention to detail, reliability, and the willingness to take responsibility for your work and keep improving.
Marc & Partners is a fast-growing lettings and property management agency based next to Oxford Circus. Our client accounts team sits at the centre of how we look after our landlords and their money. Most of our new clients come through recommendation, and many of our team members first heard about the role from people already on our team. We are looking for someone who wants to join a professional team, learn quickly, and work to high standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Processing rent payments and making sure landlords are paid accurately and on time
- Chasing rent arrears and following up persistently until matters are resolved
- Issuing financial statements and reports to landlords
- Managing deposit allocations and returns
- Reconciling company card transactions and financial records
- Responding to landlord queries about payments, charges, and account balances
- Arranging payment of service charges and ground rent
- Processing invoices and communicating with suppliers
- Using property management software to keep records accurate and up to date
What to Expect
Small mistakes matter in this job. Errors in payments, records, or statements have real consequences for landlords. Attention to detail is not a bonus — it is the core of the role.
The work is detail-heavy and often repetitive. You will be managing many tasks at once: processing payments, chasing arrears, updating records, and responding to queries. Full training will be provided on all systems and processes, but you will be expected to take responsibility for your own standard of work, report problems early, and keep improving over time.
A significant part of the role involves tenants who are late to pay, slow to respond, or give explanations that do not hold up. This is not a quiet back-office position. You will be expected to follow up firmly and professionally, escalate matters within the right timeframe, and challenge unclear or inconsistent explanations when needed. You will be trained on when and how to do this, but you need to be someone who is willing to push when the situation requires it.
You should take the landlord’s money and their interests seriously, and act with that in mind. Sending one message and waiting is not enough. The right candidate takes the next step without being told.
We do not expect you to know everything from day one, but we do expect you to be careful, honest about mistakes, willing to accept feedback, and able to improve over time.
What We're Looking For
- Fluent Mandarin and English, spoken and written
- Careful and detail-focused — you check your own work and take accuracy seriously
- Reliable and consistent — you follow things through and do not let tasks drift
- Honest about mistakes — you report problems early and do not wait and hope they go unnoticed
- Assertive — you are comfortable chasing payments, pushing for responses, and professionally challenging weak explanations
- Proactive — you take the next step without waiting to be reminded
- Calm and professional, including when someone is unresponsive or difficult
- Open to correction — you accept feedback without becoming defensive and use it to improve
- No previous experience required — attitude and character matter most
This role suits someone who is organised, accurate, honest, willing to report issues early, able to accept feedback and improve, and comfortable pushing for payment or action when needed.
What You'll Receive
- £30,000 salary
- Full training and ongoing support
- Career progression opportunities
- Central London office, next to Oxford Circus
- Laptop and business phone provided
- Job-related travel expenses covered
- Company pension
- Performance bonus
- Friendly, professional, and supportive team
