Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedSocial Workerto join theChild Protection Court Teamin Brent .
Based at the modernBrent Civic Centre, you will play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families through court proceedings and statutory interventions. This position offersflexible working arrangements, including options to start earlier and finish earlier, compressed working weeks, and part-time opportunities.
This role is ideal for a practitioner with strongcourt experience and safeguarding knowledgewho is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- UndertakeCore Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments.
- ConductSection 47 child protection investigations.
- Preparecourt statements and reports, includingSection 7 and Section 37 reports.
- Represent the local authority incourt proceedingsand provide professional evidence.
- Conducthome visitsto assess and safeguard children.
- Maintainaccurate and up-to-date case records.
- Chair and facilitatecore group meetings.
- Work collaboratively withmulti-agency partners, including police and health professionals.
- Initiate and managecare proceedingswhere required.
- Develop, implement, and reviewCare Plansfor children.
- Supervisefamily contact sessionsand prepare reports for case conferences.
- Attendstrategy meetings, case conferences, and safeguarding reviews.
- Develop and implementChild in Need plansto support families.
- QualifiedSocial Workerwith a recognised Social Work qualification (BA / MA / DipSW / CQSW).
- Registered withSocial Work England.
- Experience working withinChild Protection or Court Teams.
- Strong understanding ofchild safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks, including theChildren Act 1989.
- Experience preparingcourt reports and presenting evidence in court.
- Excellentassessment, analytical, and communication skills.
